Financial and performance management standards
57 Financial and performance management standards
The Treasurer may make standards about the policies and principles to be observed in financial and performance management.
If the Treasurer considers it appropriate, a financial and performance management standard may include a commentary about the operation of a provision of the standard.
If the standard includes a commentary about the operation of a provision—
the commentary is not part of the standard; and
the commentary is not meant to be exhaustive; and
the commentary, the provision and the other provisions of the standard are to be read together but, if the commentary and the provision are inconsistent, the provision prevails.
Each accountable officer and statutory body must comply with the provisions of a standard that apply respectively to the officer and body.
A standard is subordinate legislation.
