Financial Intermediaries Act 1996

The application for review of the original decision must be made to the registrar in the approved form within 28 days after the day on which the person receives notice of the original decision.

However, if—

the notice did not state reasons for the decision; and

the person asked for a statement of reasons for the decision within the period mentioned in subsection (1);

The registrar may at any time extend the period for making the application.

The registrar must also give the applicant an opportunity to appear before the registrar and make a submission about the original decision.
