Fire Services Act 1990

The functions of the chief officer are—

to support the commissioner in the performance of the commissioner’s functions; and

to manage the service delivery of RFSQ, including fire service officers assigned to RFSQ, to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of RFSQ; and

to ensure the development of the capability of RFSQ, including the systems, frameworks and resources required to support the delivery of services; and

to ensure minimum standards and training for fire service officers assigned to RFSQ, and for rural fire brigade members, are in place to the satisfaction of the commissioner; and

to perform any other function given to the chief officer by the commissioner.

The chief officer is subject to the direction of the commissioner in performing the chief officer’s functions under this Act.
