31 Deputy chairperson
(1)
The council members must appoint 1 of the members, other than the chairperson, to be the deputy chairperson.
(2)
The deputy chairperson holds office for the term, ending not later than the end of the person’s term of appointment as a council member, decided by the council.
(3)
However, a person’s appointment as deputy chairperson ends if—
(a)
during the term of the appointment the person stops being a council member; or
(b)
the person resigns as deputy chairperson by signed notice given to the council.
