294 Allegations of false or misleading matters
(1)
This section applies to a proceeding for an offence against this Act described as involving—
(a)
false or misleading information; or
(b)
a false or misleading document or statement.
Note—
See section 290.
(2)
It is enough for the complaint starting the proceeding to state the document, information or statement was ‘false or misleading’ to the defendant’s knowledge, without specifying which.
(3)
In the proceeding, evidence that the document, information or statement was given or made recklessly is evidence that it was given or made so as to be false or misleading.
