6 Information about registered heavy vehicles to be given to Regulator
For section 686A(4) of the Law, a registration authority for a participating jurisdiction must give the Regulator the information mentioned in section 4 for each heavy vehicle registered under a law of the participating jurisdiction.
Subsection (3) applies if a registration authority records on a vehicle register any of the following information about a heavy vehicle—
the engine make and number;
the number of engine cylinders;
the fuel type;
the GVM and, if applicable, the GCM;
the tare mass;
the body colour;
the seating capacity;
the number of wheels;
the axle configuration, including the number of axles and the spacing between each axle;
if the vehicle is conditionally registered under an Australian road law, the conditions of the registration.
The registration authority must—
give the information to the Regulator; and
the Regulator must include the information in the database of heavy vehicles.
