242 Certificate as to requested representation
An employee organisation may apply to the registrar for a certificate stating that an employee has asked the organisation, under section 171, to represent the employee in negotiating with the employer under this chapter.
An employer may apply to the registrar for a certificate stating that the employer need not negotiate with an employee organisation under this chapter because of a circumstance mentioned in section 171(5).
A certificate must identify the organisation, the employer and any proposed bargaining instrument.
A certificate must not identify any of the employees concerned.
The certificate is, for all purposes of this Act, evidence of the matters stated in it.
