415 When president holds office

(1)

The president holds office until the earlier of the following—

(a)

the president turns 70;

(b)

the president resigns by signed notice given to the Governor;

(c)

the president stops being a Supreme Court judge.

(2)

If the president stops holding office while hearing a matter, the Governor in Council may, without reappointing the person as president, continue the person in office for the time necessary to enable the hearing to be completed.

(3)

A person continued in office under subsection (2) may exercise the jurisdiction and powers of the court necessary or convenient for the hearing to be completed.
