549 Protections and immunities
(1)
A member of the court or commission or a magistrate has, in the exercise of jurisdiction for this Act or another Act, the protection and immunities of a Supreme Court judge exercising the jurisdiction of a judge.
(2)
A member of the court or commission, a magistrate or the registrar (the official) has, in proceedings for defamation for a publication made to or by the official in the official’s official capacity, a defence of absolute privilege if the publication was made in good faith.
(3)
The burden of proving the absence of good faith lies with a person who alleges the absence.
