After the registrar refers the application, the commission may make an interim order—
stopping any further steps to—

stopping a person from acting in an office the election inquiry is about, if the person has—
assumed the office; or
continued to act in the office; or
claims to occupy the office; or
directing a person who holds, or who last held before the election, an office for which the election is held to act or continue to act in the office; or
directing a member of the organisation or branch of the organisation or another stated person to act in an office for which the election is held, if the commission considers a direction under paragraph (c) would—
not be practicable; or
affect the efficient conduct of the affairs of the organisation or branch; or
be inappropriate having regard to the nature of the inquiry; or
consequential to, or amending or discharging, another interim order.
