for a registry or other administrative office of a court or tribunal—the chief executive of the department in which is administered the legislation under which the court or tribunal is established; or

for a local government—the local government’s chief executive officer, including the town clerk of the Brisbane City Council; or

for the parliamentary service—the clerk of the Parliament; or

for a government owned corporation—its chief executive officer; or

for another entity—the person prescribed by regulation or, if no person is prescribed, the person responsible to the Minister administering the legislation under which the entity is established for the management of the entity.

means a member of the opposition appointed by the Leader of the Opposition as an opposition assistant spokesperson for a particular area of public business or policy; and

includes a person appointed to a position mentioned in paragraph (a)—

whether the title of the position includes the words ‘opposition assistant spokesperson’ or ‘shadow assistant Minister’ or another description; and

whether or not the person is remunerated for holding the position.

means a member of the opposition appointed by the Leader of the Opposition as the main opposition spokesperson for a particular area of public business or policy; and

includes a person appointed to a position mentioned in paragraph (a)—

whether the title of the position includes the words ‘opposition spokesperson’ or ‘shadow Minister’ or another description; and

whether or not the person is remunerated for holding the position.

if the Legislative Assembly resolves that a particular committee of the Assembly is to be the parliamentary committee under this Act—that committee; or

if paragraph (a) does not apply and the standing rules and orders state that the portfolio area of a portfolio committee includes the integrity commissioner—that committee; or

otherwise—the portfolio committee whose portfolio area includes the department, or the part of a department, in which this Act is administered.
