178B Definitions for part
In this part—associated place, in relation to a person using video link facilities or audio link facilities for a proceeding in a Magistrates Court, means—
a correctional institution where the person is in custody; or
another place where the person is present that the presiding magistrate considers suitable for the conduct of a proceeding under this part.
Examples—
• a place appointed for the holding of a Magistrates Court
• a place in a State government or local government building
correctional institution includes the following—
a corrective services facility within the meaning of the Corrective Services Act 2006;
a watch-house;
a holding cell at a police station;
a court cell.
court cell means a place attached to or near a court that is used for detaining prisoners of the court.facility user, in relation to a proceeding, means someone who is a party to the proceeding.primary court, in a proceeding, means the Magistrates Court conducting the proceeding.proceeding for a provision of this part, other than section 178C(1), means a proceeding to which section 178C(1) applies.
