5 Valuer-general to make valuations
(1)
The valuer-general must decide the value of land, as provided for under this Act, for the purposes mentioned in section 6.
(2)
A decision under subsection (1) about the value of land is a valuation of the land.

(3)
The types of valuations are—
(a)
valuations made under section 72(1) of all lands in a local government area (annual valuations); and
(b)
valuations made under part 5 (maintenance valuations).
(4)
An annual valuation or maintenance valuation may be issued for any or all of the purposes mentioned in section 6(1).
