18 Directions not controlled by guidelines
A direction given under section 17 or under any other part of this Act—
(a)
may be given notwithstanding that there are no relevant guidelines specified under this part; and
(b)
shall be validly given and be of force and effect whether or not it is in accordance with relevant guidelines specified under this part.
