36 Authorised persons

(1)

The Minister may appoint such number of authorised persons as the Minister thinks necessary for the purpose of giving effect to and enforcing the provisions of this Act.

(2)

An authorised person shall perform such duties as the person is directed by the Minister, either generally or in a particular case.

(3)

Each authorised person shall be furnished with an identity card, which shall contain a certificate by the Minister that the person is an authorised person for the purposes of this Act.

(3A)

In subsection (3)—authorised person does not include a person who is a police officer.

(4)

A person to whom an identity card has been issued under this Act shall, upon the person ceasing to be an authorised person, surrender the identity card to the Minister or to a person nominated by the Minister by instrument in writing.Maximum penalty—$100.
