232 Making extended practice authorities
The chief executive may make a document (an extended practice authority)—
stating the places or circumstances in which an approved person may deal with a regulated substance; or
imposing conditions on dealing with a regulated substance; or
requiring an approved person to hold particular qualifications or training to deal with a regulated substance.
The chief executive may make an extended practice authority by adopting all or part of another entity’s code, guideline, protocol or standard.
A regulation may prescribe matters the chief executive must consider before making an extended practice authority under subsection (2).
An extended practice authority must be approved by regulation and takes effect—
on the day it is approved; or
if a later day is stated in the authority—on the later day.
Note—
Under section 54(2)(d), a regulated activity with a regulated substance may be prescribed for a class of persons by reference to an extended practice authority.
