40 Way macropod may be taken
(1)
The holder of a macropod harvesting licence must not take the macropod in a way that causes damage or disturbance to other wildlife.Maximum penalty—120 penalty units.
(2)
Also, if the holder of a macropod harvesting licence takes the macropod by killing it, the holder must kill it in a quick and humane way.Maximum penalty—165 penalty units.
(3)
For subsection (2), the holder of a macropod harvesting licence is taken to have killed the macropod in a quick and humane way if the holder complies with the Australian macropod code to the extent the code provides for the way in which the macropod may be taken.
