72 Vacation of office
The ombudsman is taken to resign office as the ombudsman and the inspector of detention services on becoming a candidate for election to—
the Parliament of another State or of the Commonwealth; or
the office of the chairperson, the mayor, the president, a councillor or a member of a local government; or
an office in another State equivalent to an office mentioned in paragraph (b).
Note—Under the Parliament of Queensland Act 2001, section 67(1), the person holding office as the ombudsman and the inspector of detention services must resign on being nominated under the Electoral Act 1992, section 84, as a candidate for election.
