161 Conversion to entry notice
(1)
This section applies if a notice of entry under the Petroleum Regulation 1966, section 17 is in force immediately before 31 December 2004 and the notice relates to a 1923 Act petroleum tenure.
Note—
For entry notices under the Petroleum Regulation 1966, section 17, see the 2004 Act, section 925.
(2)
On 31 December 2004—
(a)
the notice of entry is taken to be an entry notice; and
(b)
the entry notice is taken to have been given under part 6H; and
(c)
the entry period for the entry notice is the shorter of the following periods to end—
(i)
the balance of the period of the notice of entry;
(ii)
the period that ends 6 months after the commencement.
