3 Annual fee for members of occupational associations—Act, s 71(2)(b)(ii)
A fee (the annual fee) of $50 is payable to the council for each resident member to whom a scheme applies during an annual fee period of the scheme.
The annual fee must be paid—
if the scheme commences during the 3 month period ending on 31 March in a year—not later than 31 March in each annual fee period; or
if the scheme commences during the 3 month period ending on 30 June in a year—not later than 30 June in each annual fee period; or
if the scheme commences during the 3 month period ending on 30 September in a year—not later than 30 September in each annual fee period; or
if the scheme commences during the 3 month period ending on 31 December in a year—not later than 31 January in each annual fee period.
However, if the scheme starts to apply to an additional resident member during an annual fee period, the annual fee for the additional resident member for the annual fee period must be paid—
if the scheme starts to apply during the 3 month period ending on 31 March in a year—not later than 31 March in the year; or
if the scheme starts to apply during the 3 month period ending on 30 June in a year—not later than 30 June in the year; or
if the scheme starts to apply during the 3 month period ending on 30 September in a year—not later than 30 September in the year; or
if the scheme starts to apply during the 3 month period ending on 31 December in a year—not later than 31 January in the following year.
In this section—
annual fee period, of a scheme, means a period of 12 months beginning on the day the scheme commences or each anniversary of that day occurring while the scheme is in force.
resident member means a member of an occupational association who is ordinarily resident in the State.
