If a document or other thing is produced to the panel of inquiry at the inquiry, the panel may—

inspect the document or other thing; and

make copies of, photograph, or take extracts from, the document or other thing if it is relevant to the inquiry.

The panel may also take possession of the document or other thing, and keep it while it is necessary for the inquiry.

While it keeps a document or other thing, the panel must permit a person otherwise entitled to possession of the document or thing to inspect, make copies of, photograph, or take extracts from, the document or thing, at a reasonable place and time the panel decides.
