36 Acting chief executive officer
(1)
If there is a vacancy in the office of chief executive officer or the chief executive officer is absent or for any reason is unable to perform the functions of the office, the board may appoint a person to act as chief executive officer for a period of not more than 3 months.
(2)
However, the board can not appoint a person under subsection (1) for more than 3 months in any 1 year.
