244 Requiring evidence of particular matters

(1)

The chief executive may, by written notice given to the owner of a vehicle used to transport a placard load, or a prime contractor responsible for the condition of the vehicle, require the owner or prime contractor to produce—

(a)

written evidence that the vehicle is covered by a policy of insurance or other form of indemnity under section 242(1)(a) or 243(1)(a); or

(b)

an approval under section 245 for the use of the vehicle.

(2)

The owner or prime contractor must produce the evidence or approval to the chief executive within 14 days after the day the notice is given.Maximum penalty—15 penalty units.
