Transport Operations (Road Use Management—Driver Licensing) Regulation 2021

This section applies to a person if—

the chief executive has approved, under section 143, an application claiming the person has a special need for a class RE or class R Queensland driver licence; and

the person applies for a class RE learner licence.

The person is eligible for the class RE learner licence if the person—

is at least 16 years and 9 months; and

passes each road rules test for the licence; and

holds a competency declaration (learner).

However—

subsection (2)(b) does not apply if the person is not required to pass a road rules test for the class RE learner licence under section 182 or 183; and

subsection (2)(c) does not apply if the person is not required to hold a competency declaration (learner) for a class RE learner licence under section 188.
