Provision for particular demerit point offences

(1)

This section applies to the following provisions of the Heavy Vehicle National Law (Queensland), as in force immediately before the commencement of the Heavy Vehicle National Law Amendment Act 2025—

(a)

section 254(1);

(b)

section 256(1);

(c)

section 258(1).

(2)

Schedule 5, sections 5 and 16, as in force immediately before the commencement, continue to apply in relation to an offence—

(a)

against a provision to which this section applies; and

(b)

committed in relation to an existing heavy vehicle accreditation within the meaning of section 761 of the Heavy Vehicle National Law (Queensland) and to which that section applies.
