9 Powers of council
(1)
The council may do anything necessary or convenient to be done for its functions.
(2)
Without limiting subsection (1), the council has the powers given to it under this Act or another Act and, in particular, may—
(a)
appoint the university’s staff; and
(b)
manage and control the university’s affairs and property; and
(c)
manage and control the university’s finances.
