30 Obtaining evidentiary material

(1)

This section applies if, under section 29, the commissioner asks the director of public prosecutions or the police commissioner for information that relates to a person who has been charged with or convicted of an offence.

(2)

The director of public prosecutions or the police commissioner is authorised to give the commissioner a copy or a summary of evidentiary material about the offence despite any other Act or law, including a law imposing an obligation to maintain confidentiality about the information.

(3)

Without limiting subsection (2), this section applies despite—

(a)

the Director of Public Prosecutions Act 1984, section 24A; and

(b)

the Police Service Administration Act 1990, section 10.1.
