83 Eligibility to act as administering practitioner

A person is eligible to act as an administering practitioner for a person requesting access to voluntary assisted dying if—

(a)

the person is—

(i)

a medical practitioner who is eligible to act as a coordinating practitioner for the person requesting access to voluntary assisted dying under section 82(1); or

(ii)

a nurse practitioner who meets the approved nurse practitioner requirements; or

(iii)

a nurse who has practised in the nursing profession for at least 5 years and meets the approved nurse requirements; and

(b)

the person has completed the approved training; and

(c)

the person is not a family member of the person requesting access to voluntary assisted dying; and

(d)

the person does not know or believe that they—

(i)

are a beneficiary under a will of the person requesting access to voluntary assisted dying; or

(ii)

may otherwise benefit financially or in any other material way from the death of the person requesting access to voluntary assisted dying, other than by receiving reasonable fees for the provision of services as the administering practitioner for the person.
