69 Appointment and qualifications
(1)
The chief executive may appoint any of the following persons as a State analyst—
(a)
a public service employee of the department;
(b)
a health service employee;
(c)
a person prescribed under a regulation.
(2)
A person may be appointed as a State analyst under subsection (1) to carry out any type, or only particular types, of analysis.
(3)
However, the chief executive may appoint a person as a State analyst only if satisfied the person is qualified for appointment because the person has the necessary expertise or experience.
