Working with Children Check Act 2000

This section applies if—

a child applies to QCAT for review of a child-related employment decision or a person makes the application on the child’s behalf; and

in a proceeding for the review, the child elects to give evidence.

Before the child gives evidence, QCAT must tell the child that—

he or she may be cross-examined by QCAT or a party to the proceeding; and

he or she may, at any time while the cross-examination is continuing, refuse to be further cross-examined; and

if he or she acts under paragraph (b), the application is taken to have been withdrawn and the review stops.

If the child acts under subsection (2)(b), the application is taken to have been withdrawn and the review stops.
