Youth Justice Regulation 2016

This section applies to the following searches—

a search of a child under section 24 for which a detention centre employee used reasonable force to carry out the search;

an imaging search of a child under section 24A;

a search of a child under section 25;

a body search of a child under section 26.

The chief executive must make a record of the search containing the following information—

the name of the child;

the reason for the search;

the name of the person who carried out the search and the name of each person who helped to carry out the search;

for a search mentioned in subsection (1)(a)—the reason for the use of force and details of the force used;

for another search—whether force was used to carry out the search and, if force was used, the reason for its use and details of the force used.
