Adelaide University Act 2023

The Council has the power to do anything necessary, convenient or incidental to, or in connection with, the performance of its function as the governing body of the University.

Without limiting subsection (1), the Council may—

set fees in relation to anything done by the University, and provide for the collection and waiver of fees; and

approve and enforce policies in relation to anything associated with the University; and

without limiting paragraph (b), approve and enforce policies in connection with discipline and other standards within the University, including—

to provide for academic and other boards and committees; and

to provide for related processes and procedures; and

to confer powers of reprimand, suspension and expulsion; and

to impose monetary penalties; and

to make other provision in relation to the enforcement of a policy.

This section does not limit the ability of the Council to make and enforce statutes under this Act.
