34 Statutes
The Council may make statutes in connection with the governance, operation or administration of the University.
Without limiting subsection (1), a statute may—
provide for academic and other boards and committees; and
provide for related processes and procedures; and
confer powers of reprimand, suspension and expulsion; and
impose monetary penalties; and
make other provision in relation to the enforcement of the statute.
Without limiting any other provision, a statute may make provision in relation to—
obtaining or holding, or the revocation of, any registration, endorsement, authorisation, authority or status; or
dealing with assets of the University in the event of the winding up of the University; or
any other prescribed matter.
The Legislative Instruments Act 1978 does not apply to a statute made under this section.
A statute—
takes effect on a day specified by the Council; and
must be published in a manner determined by the Council; and
is not required to be published in the Gazette.
This section does not limit the ability of the Council to make and enforce policies that apply in relation to the University, or any part or aspect of the University.
