17 Religious and other ceremonies not to be interfered with etc
A relevant authority must not, unless it is necessary to protect the health or safety of any person, prevent or interfere with the performance of a ceremony according to the customs and practices of a person's religion or culture in connection with the disposal of human remains in a cemetery or natural burial ground administered by the authority or at a crematorium that the relevant authority is in charge of.
Maximum penalty: $5 000.
The relevant authority for a cemetery or natural burial ground must allow a member of the clergy of a religion for which a portion of a cemetery or natural burial ground administered by the authority is set apart to have free access and admission to that portion of the cemetery or natural burial ground in order to exercise his or her religious functions.
Maximum penalty: $5 000.
