85 Appointment of authorised officers
The Authority may appoint persons to be authorised officers for the purposes of this Act.
All members of the police force are authorised officers for the purposes of this Act.
A council may appoint as authorised officers specified officers or employees of the council, or officers or employees of the council of a specified class.
An appointment—
may be made subject to conditions specified in the instrument of appointment; and
is, in the case of an appointment by a council or other appointment of a prescribed class, subject to conditions prescribed by regulation.
The Authority or a council may, at any time, revoke an appointment made by the Authority or council, or vary or revoke a condition specified in the instrument of such an appointment or impose a further such condition.
