Objections
25 Objections
An applicant who is dissatisfied with the Commissioner's decision on the application, or an applicant or former applicant who is dissatisfied with a decision of the Commissioner to impose a penalty under section 39(2) or (3), may lodge a written notice of objection with the Treasurer.
The grounds of objection must be stated fully and in detail in the notice of objection.
The objection must be lodged within 60 days after the date of the notice of the decision or, if the decision was made in anticipation of a provision that operates retrospectively, within 60 days after the date of the notice of the decision or the date of the enactment or making of the provision (whichever is the later).
If the Treasurer is satisfied that an objector has a reasonable excuse for failing to lodge an objection within the 60-day period, the
Treasurer may extend the time for lodging the objection.
