Highways Act 1926

The

Governor may make a regulation declaring a particular project to be an authorised project.

A regulation declaring a project to be an authorised project must contain an outline of the project—

containing—

reasonable particulars of the principal features of the project; and

any information about the project required under the regulations; and

specifying the land to which the project applies.

A regulation must be made containing a project outline for the Port

River Expressway Project.

The

Minister may, by notice in the Gazette—

supplement the particulars contained in a regulation with further details of a particular project; and

vary a notice previously published under this section.

The project outline together with any supplementary particulars contained in a Ministerial notice under this section together constitute the project description for a particular project.

Before work on an authorised project commences, a detailed description of the project and how it is to be funded must be referred to the

Public Works Committee of the Parliament for inquiry and consideration.

The

Governor is not required to have the recommendation of the

Commissioner for the making of a regulation under this section.
