Labour Hire Licensing Act 2017

The Commissioner is an authorised officer.

An authorised officer under the Fair Trading Act 1987 is taken to be an authorised officer appointed under this section.

The Commissioner may, by instrument, appoint any of the following as an authorised officer for the purposes of this Act:

a public sector employee under the Public Sector Act 2009;

the holder of a statutory office;

a person who is appointed as an authorised officer or inspector under a corresponding law;

a person in a prescribed class of persons.

The appointment of an authorised officer may be made subject to conditions specified in the instrument of appointment.

The Commissioner may, at any time, revoke an appointment of an authorised officer or vary or revoke a condition of appointment or impose a further condition of appointment.

An authorised officer must be issued with an identity card—

containing the person's name and a photograph of the person;

and

stating that the person is an authorised officer under this

Act.

If the powers of an authorised officer have been limited by conditions, the identity card issued to the authorised officer must indicate those limitations.

An authorised officer must, at the request of a person in relation to whom the authorised officer intends to exercise powers under this Act, produce for the inspection of the person the officer's identity card.

An authorised officer may, in exercising powers under this Act, be assisted by such other persons as are reasonably necessary for the purpose.
