3 Time within which claim must be made
A claim for compensation must be made within the prescribed period.
The Commissioner must, within 21 days after the commencement of this Schedule, by notice published in a newspaper circulating generally throughout Australia, give notice to persons who may qualify as eligible claimants under this Schedule of—
the ability to make a claim under this Schedule; and
the fact that a claim for compensation must be made within the prescribed period.
A claim that is not made within the prescribed period is barred for the purposes of this Schedule unless the Tribunal, on application, otherwise determines.
