Conditions imposed by Society
42 Conditions imposed by Society
The Society may impose conditions on registration as a foreign lawyer—
when it is granted or renewed; or
during its currency.
A condition imposed under this clause may be about any of the following:
any matter in respect of which a condition could be imposed on a local practising certificate;
a matter agreed to by the foreign lawyer.
The Society must not impose a condition under subclause (2)(a) that is more onerous than a condition that would be imposed on a local practising certificate of a local legal practitioner in the same or similar circumstances.
The Society may vary or revoke conditions imposed by it under this clause.
