44 Calculating time
(1)
A period of time referred to in an Act or a legislative instrument that is of a kind mentioned in column 2 of an item in the table below is to be calculated as set out in column 3 of that item.

| 7 | is expressed to end before a specified day | does not include that specified day |
| 8 | is a period of 2 or more months expressed to begin at, on or with a specified day in a calendar month (the starting month) | ends immediately before the corresponding day of the calendar month (the ending month) that is the relevant number of calendar months after the starting month or, if there is no corresponding day, at the end of the ending month |

If an Act or a legislative instrument requires or allows a thing to be done but the last day for doing it is a day that is not a business day, then the thing may be done on the next day that is a business day.
(3)
If no period of time is provided or allowed for doing a thing that is required to be done, the thing must be done as soon as is reasonably practicable.
