47 Issue and term of licences
The Minister may, on due application but subject to this Act and the regulations, issue or renew a licence under this
Part.
A licence continues in force (unless sooner cancelled or surrendered) for a period of 12 months from the day on which it is granted or, in the case of a renewal of a licence, 12 months after the expiry of the term of the previous licence.
The term of a licence commences—
on the day on which it is granted; or
if the licence is renewed on payment of the prescribed fee before the expiry of the term of the previous licence—on the expiry of the term of the previous licence; or
if the licence is renewed on payment of the prescribed fee after the expiry of the term of the previous licence—on payment of the prescribed fee.
A licence cannot be transferred, assigned, leased or otherwise dealt with (and a purported dealing in contravention of this subsection is void).
A licence may, if the regulations so provide, be of a prescribed kind or grade.
