Police Act 1998

A police cadet may resign by not less than 14 days notice in writing to the Commissioner (unless notice of a shorter period is accepted by the Commissioner).

A police cadet must not relinquish official duties unless the police cadet—

is expressly authorised in writing by the Commissioner to do so;

or

is incapacitated by physical or mental disability or illness from performing official duties. Maximum penalty: Maximum penalty: $1 250 or three months imprisonment.
