21 Transport of radioactive material
A carrier must not transport radioactive material unless authorised to do so by a radiation management licence granted by the Minister under this Act. Maximum penalty: Maximum penalty:
in the case of a body corporate—$500 000;
in the case of a natural person—$100 000.
Subsection (1) does not apply—
in prescribed circumstances; or
in relation to a person or radioactive material of a prescribed class.
A person must not operate a vehicle transporting radioactive material unless the carrier of the radioactive material is authorised to transport the material by a radiation management licence granted by the Minister under this Act. Maximum penalty: Maximum penalty: $50 000.
This section does not apply in relation to the transport of radioactive material that is regulated under the Civil Aviation Act 1988 of the Commonwealth.
