69 Purpose of home detention
(1)
The purpose of a home detention order is to allow a court to impose a custodial sentence but direct that the sentence be served on home detention.
(2)
The paramount consideration of the court when determining whether to make a home detention order must be to protect the safety of the community (whether as individuals or in general).
