16 Chief Executive appointment and responsibilities
There will be a Chief Executive of TAFE
SA.
The Chief Executive will be appointed by the Board with the approval of the Minister on terms and conditions approved by the
Minister.
The Chief Executive is responsible to the Board for the conduct of the business of TAFE SA, including—
the general operation and the day to day management of TAFE SA;
and
implementation and reporting in relation to the business plan, including meeting performance objectives and the requirements of the statement of priority; and
the development and implementation of the policies and procedures of TAFE SA; and
such other matters as may be determined from time to time by the
Board.
The Chief Executive may not be a director but may, on the invitation of the Board, attend a meeting of the Board in an advisory capacity.
The Board may appoint a suitable person to act in the office of
Chief Executive during any period for which the Chief Executive is absent or unavailable to carry out official duties.
The Board must not remove a person as Chief Executive except with the approval of the Minister.
