30 Review of Act
The Minister must cause the operation of this Act to be reviewed as soon as is practicable after—
the second anniversary of the commencement of this Act;
and
the fifth anniversary of the commencement of this Act;
and
the twelfth anniversary of the commencement of this Act;
and
the fourteenth anniversary of the commencement of this Act;
and
the sixteenth anniversary of the commencement of this Act;
and
the eighteenth anniversary of the commencement of this
Act.
The Minister must, within the 4 month period preceding the expiry of this Act, cause the operation of this Act to be finally reviewed.
The purpose of a review is to produce a report on the extent to which the exercise of powers under this Act has contributed to preventing and investigating terrorism.
The Minister must, within 12 sitting days after receiving a report, cause a copy of the report to be laid before both Houses of
Parliament.
