27 Wilful damage to wilderness protection area or zone or to property of Minister
A person who intentionally and without lawful authority—
destroys or damages any part of a wilderness protection area, wilderness protection zone or land acquired by the Minister; or
destroys or damages native plants in a wilderness protection area or zone or on land acquired by the Minister; or
damages or destroys any property of the Minister in a wilderness protection area or zone or on land acquired by the Minister, is guilty of an offence.
Maximum penalty: $20 000 or imprisonment for 4 years or both.
Upon convicting a person of an offence against this section, the court may order the convicted person to pay to the Minister such sum as the court thinks just by way of compensation.
