Division 3Sentence

22 Power to sentence

(1)

Subject to this Division, the Court has the same powers to sentence a youth for an offence—

(a)

if the offence is a summary offence—as the Magistrates

Court; or

(b)

if the offence is an indictable offence—as the District

Court.

(2)

Any powers conferred on a Minister of the Crown by the

Sentencing Act 2017 are exercisable, in relation to a youth or a sentence imposed on a youth, by a

Minister assigned by the Governor to exercise such powers in relation to youths.
