21 Training centres, facilities and programs
The
Minister may establish such training centres and other facilities and programs as the Minister thinks necessary or desirable for the care, rehabilitation, detention, training or treatment of youths.
A training centre (whether established under this section or the
Family and Community Services Act 1972) will be under the control of the Minister.
The
Chief Executive must ensure that adequate arrangements are in place in a training centre—
to maintain the physical, psychological and emotional well being of the residents of the centre; and
to promote the social, cultural, educational and vocational development of the residents of the centre; and
to maintain discipline and order among the residents of the centre; and
to ensure, through the implementation of operational procedures, the proper security, control and management of the centre; and
for the keeping of proper records relating to the operation and management of the centre; and
for the good management of the centre.
